The Georgia State Panthers have added Air Force and West Virginia to their future football schedules, the AJC has reported.
Georgia State will travel to face West Virginia at Mountaineer Field in Morgantown on Sept. 14, 2013. WVU will pay GSU $550,000 for the game.
The addition of the game against Georgia State completes West Virginia’s 2013 non-conference schedule. The Mountaineers also face Maryland at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore and host William & Mary.
Georgia State now has four non-conference games set for 2013. The Panthers host Chattanooga on Sept. 7 and Jacksonville State on Sept. 21.
GSU has also scheduled a home-and-home series with Air Force for 2014 and 2016. The Panthers will host the Falcons at the Georgia Dome on Sept. 13, 2014 and will travel to Falcon Stadium in Colorado Springs on Sept. 10, 2016.
Georgia State is set to officially join the Sun Belt Conference on July 1, 2013. The Panthers will be considered an FBS transitional team in 2013. In 2014, Georgia State will be eligible for postseason football and the Sun Belt Conference football championship.
Update: Georgia State has also added games at Alabama on Oct. 5, 2013 and at Oregon in 2015.
