The Colorado Buffaloes and the Colorado State Rams have announced that starting in 2010 and extending through 2019, the two schools will play in Denver at Invesco Field at Mile High.
The annual rivalry game, dubbed the Rocky Mountain Showdown, will be played this Sunday at Folsom Field in Boulder. The game will be televised by FSN at 5:00 p.m. MT.
Except in the 2011 and 2015 seasons, the Colorado-Colorado State games in Denver will be played on college football’s opening weekend. The 2020 game will be played at Sonny Lubick Field at Hughes Stadium in Fort Collins, the home of the Colorado State Rams.
Colorado and Colorado State first met in 1902 and have played 75 times. The Buffaloes lead the overall series against the Rams 54-19-2. In the nine previous games played in Denver, Colorado is 5-4.
