The Charlotte 49ers have added the Norfolk State Spartans to their 2020 football schedule, FBSchedules.com has learned.
Charlotte will host Norfolk State at Jerry Richardson Stadium on Sept. 12, 2020. The 49ers will pay the Spartans a $275,000 guarantee, according to a copy of the contract obtained from UNC-Charlotte via a public records request.
Charlotte and Norfolk State have never met on the football field.
Norfolk State is a member of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference in the Football Championship Subdivision. Last season, the Spartans finished 4-7 overall and 3-5 in MEAC play.
With the addition of Norfolk State, Charlotte has now tentatively completed their 2020 non-conference football schedule. The 49ers are also slated to visit Tennessee on Sept. 5, travel to Duke on Sept. 19, and host Georgia State on Sept. 26.
