The LSU Tigers have announced their 2011 football schedule, which features games against Oregon, West Virginia, Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida and Tennessee.
LSU’s 2011 non-conference schedule is highlighted by the season-opener on September 3 against the Oregon Ducks at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas and a trip to face West Virginia on September 24. The Tigers also host Northwestern State (09/10) and Western Kentucky (11/12).
The Tigers begin the SEC season on Thursday, September 15 at the Mississippi State Bulldogs. The remainder of LSU’s SEC schedule includes Kentucky (10/01), Florida (10/08), at Tennessee (10/15), Auburn (10/22), at Alabama (11/05), at Ole Miss (11/19) and home against Arkansas (Fri. 11/25).
The SEC Championship Game will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.

Wow! What a meat grinder of a schedule for LSU but I like it! Finally some quality non-conference opponents. I still don’t like the cupcakes, maybe one per season for HC but other than that, if you want to be a true contender, at least replace NW state (insert your own cupcake) with at least a better than mediocre team like say….Mich St., Indiana, Iowa, TCU, etc…Then you see your mettle. Then you see how good you really are and you will be rewarded for that, even if you drop one of those contests. “The strongest Palm trees grow where the greatest winds blow.” – Me
