The Boston College Eagles and the UMass Minutemen are working on a new three-game football series, GazetteNet.com has reported.

Boston College athletic director Gene DeFilippio has stated that the two schools will play a two-for-one series in 2014, 2016 and 2018. Exact dates and locations are to be announced.

The Eagles and Minutemen met on Saturday at Alumni Stadium in Chestnut Hill. Boston College won the game 45-17 and leads the overall series 19-5.

UMass announced in April their move from the FCS to the FBS. They will play a full MAC schedule in 2012 and will be eligible for the MAC Championship Game and bowls beginning with the 2013 season.
