Oregon Ducks complete 2013 Non-Conference Football Schedule

The Oregon Ducks have completed their 2013 non-conference football schedule with the addition of Nicholls State, The Register Guard has reported.

Nicholls State will visit Autzen Stadium for both schools’ season opener on Aug. 31, 2013. UO and NSU have never met in football.

The Nicholls State Colonels are a member of the Southland Conference in the FCS. They were slated to open at Oregon State this season, but the game was postponed due to Hurricane Isaac and has since been rescheduled for Dec. 1.

After hosting the Colonels, Oregon will travel to Reno to take on the Wolf Pack on Sept. 7. The game is the second in a home-and-home series that began in Eugene in 2011. The Ducks won that game 69-20.

Oregon’s final non-conference game is at home against the Tennessee Volunteers on Sept. 14. This game is also the last of a two-game series. Oregon hammered Tennessee 48-13 in Knoxville in 2010.

Last September, it was announced via Twitter that Oregon head coach Chip Kelly stated Tennessee was going to buy out of the 2013 game at Oregon. The Vols released a statement later in the day that they “…expect to make the trip to Oregon in ’13 unless they (the Ducks) cancel.”

In Pac-12 play, Oregon will host California, Oregon State, and Washington State and travel to Arizona, Colorado, Stanford, and Washington. Sites for games against UCLA and Utah are to be determined.
