College football’s Week 11 rankings are in, and the Georgia Bulldogs have returned to the top spot.
Georgia made the jump to the pinnacle after a convincing, 42-7 win at Ole Miss Saturday night. The Bulldogs ascended from last week’s No. 2 ranking following Miami’s 31-24 loss at Notre Dame Saturday evening.
The Bulldogs and Fighting Irish each jumped a spot following those victories, along with two undefeated teams — No. 2 Utah, who claimed a 28-20 win over rival BYU, and No. 4 UCLA, who beat Minnesota, 34-20.
The top five teams are the same in both polls, with Miami sinking to fifth after the Notre Dame result.
Tennessee (7-2) made the jump of the week, rocketing seven spots both polls after a 34-6 dismantling of the Kentucky Wildcats. Kentucky slid five spots in the AP Poll and six spots amongst the coaches following the defeat. Ohio State took the biggest tumble, falling 10 places in both polls after a 41-28 home loss to Oregon that moved the Ducks back into both polls. Other significant drops came from Ole Miss and LSU.
Missouri departed both polls following a Saturday home loss to Texas. Northwestern exited the coaches’ rankings after a 24-10 loss to Iowa. Oregon returned to both polls, with South Carolina climbing back into the Coaches Poll and SMU returning to the AP Top 25.
