College football’s Week 6 rankings delivered another jolt, driven by Missouri’s surge after a commanding 45–17 win over then‑No. 8 Florida.

The Tigers rocketed 11 spots in the AP Poll to No. 14 and climbed nine places in the Coaches Poll to No. 16, snapping a nine‑game skid against ranked opponents in the process.

Texas (4–0) was idle but remained entrenched at No. 1 in both major polls. Georgia, Notre Dame, and Miami (FL) held steady at Nos. 2, 3, and 4, keeping the top of the rankings unchanged.

Missouri recorded the week’s largest jump in the AP Poll, while Pitt also made a notable move, rising seven spots to No. 25.

Florida absorbed the week’s steepest fall, tumbling eight places to No. 16 in the AP Poll — the Gators’ first loss of the season.

Despite edging South Carolina in overtime, Kentucky slipped out of the AP Poll after entering the week at No. 24.
