Michigan Wolverines announce 2012, 2013 football schedules

The Michigan Wolverines have finalized their 2012 and 2013 football schedules, the school announced today.

Michigan completed their 2012 schedule with the addition of a game against UMass and their 2013 schedule with a game against Central Michigan.

The Wolverines open the 2012 season on Sept. 1 against Alabama at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Michigan then hosts Air Force (Sept. 8) and UMass (Sept. 15) before completing the non-conference portion of their schedule at Notre Dame (Sept. 22).

After an open date, the Wolverines open Big Ten play at Purdue on Oct. 6. The remainder of their conference schedule in 2012 includes Illinois, Michigan State, at Nebraska, at Minnesota, Northwestern, Iowa and at Ohio State.

Michigan kicks off the 2013 season on Aug. 31 at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor against Central Michigan. Home non-conference games follow against Notre Dame (Sept. 7) and Akron (Sept. 14) before a road game at Connecticut (Sept. 21).

For the second consecutive year, Michigan enjoys an open date prior to starting conference play. Big Ten play in 2013 begins at home against Minnesota on Oct. 5. The rest of their B1G schedule includes at Penn State, Indiana, at Michigan State, Nebraska, at Northwestern, at Iowa and home vs. Ohio State.

The Big Ten Championship Game will be played at Lucas Oil Stadium in 2012 (Dec. 1) and 2013 (Dec. 7). The game will feature the winners of the Legends and Leaders divisions.
