MEAC releases revised Spring 2021 football schedule

The Mid-Eastern Conference (MEAC) has released a revised Spring 2021 football schedule due to some members opting out amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The MEAC previously announced their Spring 2021 schedule on October 22. Since that time, however, MEAC members Bethune-Cookman and Florida A&M both announced their intention to opt out of the Spring 2021 season prior to the November 16 deadline.

As a result, the MEAC has announced a revised Spring schedule consisting of the seven remaining teams. For the Spring MEAC season, the conference will split into divisions:

Northern Division: Delaware State, Howard, Morgan State, Norfolk State.

Southern Division: North Carolina A&T, North Carolina Central, South Carolina State

Northern Division teams will each play four conference games from within their division, including each school playing one opponent twice. Teams in the Southern Division will play each other twice, which will result in four games each.

MEAC schools may also schedule non-conference games if they desire.

MEAC action will begin on Saturday, Feb. 20 with three matchups and will conclude on Saturday, April 3. The MEAC Football Championship Game will be held Saturday, April 17, one week prior to the FCS playoffs that begin on Saturday, April 24.
