The Illinois Fighting Illini have added Middle Tennessee and Western Kentucky to their future football schedules, Illini Director of Athletics Mike Thomas announced today.

Illinois will host Middle Tennessee at Memorial Stadium in Champaign on Sept. 26, 2015. The Illini lead the series against the Blue Raiders 2-0 after winning 48-20 in 1998 and 35-6 in 2000.

Western Kentucky will visit Champaign on Sept. 16, 2017. The two schools have never met on the football field, but will first play on Sept. 6, 2014. That 2014 game was previously announced.

Illinois now has three non-conference games set for the 2015 season and only needs one more, which will be their season-opener on Sept. 5. The 2015 season is the last in which the Big Ten will play four non-conference games.

Also making the trip to Memorial Stadium in 2015 are Kent State (Sept. 12) and Western Illinois (Sept. 19).

Western Kentucky is the first scheduled non-conference game for Illinois for the 2017 season.
