The Fresno State Bulldogs have added the Cal Poly Mustangs to their 2022 football schedule, FBSchedules.com has learned.
A copy of the athletic contest agreement with California Polytechnic State University was obtained from Fresno State University via a state public records request.
Fresno State will host Cal Poly at Bulldog Stadium in Fresno, Calif., on September 3, 2022. The Bulldogs will pay the Mustangs a $350,000 guarantee for playing the game, per the copy of the contract.
Cal Poly is also scheduled to take on Fresno State on September 11, 2021, which we reported last October. The Bulldogs will pay the Mustangs $390,000 for that contest.
Fresno State was previously scheduled to host the Sacramento State Hornets on Sept. 3, 2022. That game will likely be postponed to another season or canceled altogether.
The remainder of Fresno State’s 2022 non-conference football schedule is set. The Bulldogs are scheduled to host Oregon State on Sept. 10 and travel to both USC (Sept. 17) and UConn (Oct. 1).
Mountain West Conference opponents for Fresno State have also been set. Fresno State will host Hawaii, San Diego State, San Jose State, and Wyoming and will travel to Boise State, Nevada, New Mexico, and UNLV.
Cal Poly has completed their 2022 non-conference schedule with the addition of Fresno State. The Mustangs are also scheduled to host San Diego on Sept. 10 and play at South Dakota on Sept. 17.
The Big Sky Conference schedule for Cal Poly in 2022, with dates, was released last year. The Mustangs will host Southern Utah, Montana, Portland State, and UC Davis and travel to Sacramento State, Montana State, Weber State, and Eastern Washington.
