Utah Utes announce 2013 Non-conference Football Schedule

The Utah Utes have announced their 2013 non-conference football schedule, which is highlighted by a trip to BYU.

Utah will open the 2013 season at home on Thursday, Aug. 29 against Utah State. The game will be the 111th meeting between the two schools. Utah leads the overall series 77-29-4.

On Sept. 7, Utah will host Weber State of the FCS. The Utes are 3-0 against the Wildcats after wins in 1978 (30-7), 1984 (52-16), and 2008 (37-21).

Utah’s final non-conference game of the 2013 season is at in-state rival BYU on Sept. 21. The Utes are 53-31-4 against the Cougars, including a 24-21 win back in September.

The two schools have played each other every year since 1946, but the series will take a break in 2014 and 2015 when Utah plays a home-and-home series with Michigan.

In Pac-12 play, Utah will host Arizona State, Colorado, Oregon State, Stanford, and UCLA. The Utes will travel to face Arizona, Oregon, USC, and Washington State.

That is a slight change from the Pac-12 future schedule grid that was released in 2010. Utah was previously slated to host Washington and travel to Stanford, but will now host Stanford and travel to Washington State.
