UMass announces future non-conference football opponents

The UMass Minutemen announced a slate of future non-conference football opponents today, which includes games against BCS teams Boston College, Colorado, Florida, Notre Dame, Penn State, and Wisconsin.

UMass will open the 2013 season with a trip to face the Wisconsin Badgers on Aug. 31. After a road game at Kansas State on Sept. 14, the Minutemen will host Vanderbilt on Sept. 21. UMass has never faced Vanderbilt or Wisconsin and is 0-2 against Kansas State. One more game is necessary to complete their 2013 non-conference schedule.

The 2014 slate is complete and opens with consecutive games at home against Boston College on Aug. 30 followed by Colorado on Sept. 6. UMass travels to face Penn State on Sept. 20 and Vanderbilt on Oct. 4. The Minutemen have never faced Colorado or Penn State.

The Minutemen have two games each scheduled for the 2015 and 2016 seasons. In 2015, UMass will travel to Colorado on Sept. 12 and will also visit Notre Dame on Sept. 26. The 2016 season features a trip to Gainesville to take on Florida on Sept. 3 and a game at Boston College on Sept. 17.

UMass travels to Indiana on Sept. 23, 2017 to complete their home-and-home series that begins on Sept. 8, 2012. In 2018, UMass plays at Boston College again (Sept. 1) and hosts Vanderbilt (Sept. 8).

On Sept. 7, 2019, the Minutemen visit Boulder against to face Colorado in the final game of a three-game contract.

UMass plays their annual Spring game on Saturday, Apr. 28 at McGuirk Alumni Stadium in Amherst. They open the 2012 season, their first at the FBS level (MAC), at UConn on Thursday, Aug. 30.
