The Toledo Rockets have added the New Haven Chargers to their 2027 football schedule, FBSchedules.com has learned. A copy of the game contract was obtained from the University of Toledo via a state open records request.

Toledo will host New Haven at the Glass Bowl on Saturday, Sept. 11, 2027. The agreement calls for the Rockets to pay the Chargers a $325,000 guarantee for the matchup.

The University of New Haven, located in West Haven, Conn., transitioned from Division II to the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) last year and now competes in the Northeast Conference (NEC). The Chargers have never faced Toledo on the gridiron.

With New Haven added, Toledo now has three of its four non-conference opponents set for 2027. The Rockets will visit Memphis on Sept. 4 — as we reported Thursday — and travel to Utah State on Sept. 18.

New Haven now has three known non-league opponents for the 2027 campaign as well. The Chargers are slated to visit Marist on Aug. 27 and Brown on Sept. 18.

The trip to Toledo will mark New Haven’s first-ever game against a Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) opponent.
