The Tarleton State Texans have announced their fall 2021 football schedule, which features six home games and 11 contests overall.
The fall 2021 season will be the second year of transition for Tarleton State into Division I. The Texans will play in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) as the conference has reinstated football for the fall.
Tarleton State opens the 2021 season on the road against the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks on Saturday, Sept. 4. Other road contests include Eastern Kentucky (Oct. 2), Dixie State (Oct. 16), and Abilene Christian (Nov. 13).
A previously scheduled non-conference matchup at South Dakota State on Sept. 11 was not included in the schedule release, so that game has either been postponed to another season or canceled.
The Texans will open their home schedule at Memorial Stadium in Stephenville, Texas, on Saturday, Sept. 11 against the Fort Lewis Skyhawks. Other opponents visiting Stephenville in 2021 include New Mexico Highlands (Sept. 25), Midwestern State (Oct. 23; Homecoming), Sam Houston State (Oct. 30), Lamar (Nov. 6), and Central Arkansas (Nov. 20).
Tarleton State will also take on Southern Utah in a neutral-site contest at Globe Life Park in Arlington, Texas. That contest is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 18.
