The Ohio Bobcats have added the Towson Tigers to their 2027 football schedule, FBSchedules.com has learned.
A copy of the football game contract with Towson University was obtained from Ohio University via a state open records request.
Ohio will host Towson at Peden Stadium in Athens, Ohio, on September 4, 2027. The Bobcats will pay the Tigers a $425,000 guarantee for playing the game, according to the copy of the contract.
Ohio and Towson have never met on the gridiron previously. The Bobcats are 2-2 overall against current members of the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA), while the Tigers are 3-4 against Mid-American Conference (MAC) opponents.
With the addition of Towson, Ohio now has all four non-conference opponents set for its schedule in 2027. The Bobcats are scheduled to open the season on the road against West Virginia on August 28. Other contests include Marshall at home on Sept. 11 and Texas State on the road on Sept. 25.
Ohio is the third scheduled non-conference opponent for Towson next season. The Tigers are also scheduled to visit Morgan State on Sept. 18 and host Norfolk State on October 9.
Towson now has a total of four future games scheduled against FBS opponents: Ohio (2027), Maryland (2028 & 2030), and Navy (2030).
