The Michigan State Spartans at Maryland Terrapins football game has been canceled again due to COVID-19, it was announced on Thursday.

The two schools were originally scheduled to meet at Maryland Stadium in College Park, Md., on Saturday, Nov. 21. The game was canceled due to COVID-19 issues at Maryland and later rescheduled for Saturday, Dec. 19 as part of Big Ten Champions Week.

Saturday’s game was canceled again due to COVID-19 issues with the Terrapins. The game will not be rescheduled.

“This has been a season of promise and of adversity,” said Head Coach Michael Locksley. “Our team has demonstrated a tremendous work ethic, resolve and displayed Maryland pride throughout this unique season. We have battled two opponents each week, the team we matched up with on the field and COVID. Together, we experienced tremendous highs and we are deeply disappointed that we will not be able to test ourselves on the field against Michigan State.”

Maryland wraps up the regular-season 2-3 with wins over Minnesota (45-44 OT) and Penn State (35-19) and losses to Northwestern (43-3), Indiana (27-11), and Rutgers (27-24 OT).
