The Marshall Thundering Herd at FIU Panthers football game scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 31 has been postponed, it was announced on Tuesday.

The game was postponed due to novel coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) issues at FIU. The game will be rescheduled for a later date, per the FIU release.

The action follows Conference USA COVID-19 guidelines, which require a threshold for the game to be played safely. The shortage is due to quarantining of COVID-19 positive tests and contact tracing, as well as injuries.

Marshall (5-0) is currently ranked 19th by the Associated Press and 18th in the Amway/USA Today Coaches Poll. The Thundering Herd have recorded victories over Eastern Kentucky, Appalachian State, Western Kentucky, Louisiana Tech, and Florida Atlantic.

The next scheduled contest for the Thundering Herd is Saturday, Nov. 7 at home against the UMass Minutemen.

FIU is 0-3 so far this season following losses to Liberty, Middle Tennessee, and Jacksonville State. The Panthers’ next contest is slated for Saturday, Nov. 7 at the UTEP Miners.
