Hurricane Isaias: Tracking changes to the college football schedule

Hurricane Isaias is currently a category 3 storm and it is expected to make landfall somewhere between Alabama and the Florida Panhandle late Friday night or early Saturday. Due to the potential effects of the storm, games on the Week 6 college football schedule have been postponed or rescheduled.

Below are the FBS and FCS college football games that have changed dates, kickoff times, and/or locations, or that have been canceled due to Hurricane Isaias. New information will be posted as it is announced.

Florida A&M at Alabama State

The Florida A&M–Alabama State football game in Montgomery, Ala., on Saturday, Oct. 10 has been moved up one day to Friday, Oct. 9. The game will be streamed live on SWAC TV at 12:00pm ET / 11:00am CT.

Northeastern State at West Florida

The Northeastern State–West Florida football game in Pensacola, Fla., on Saturday, Oct. 10 has been canceled. The game was a non-conference contest and likely will not be rescheduled.

South Carolina State at Charleston Southern

The South Carolina State-Charleston Southern football game in North Charleston, S.C., on Saturday, Oct. 10 has been moved up six hours and will now kickoff at noon ET on ESPN+.

Davidson at Presbyterian

The Davidson-Presbyterian football game in Clinton, S.C., on Saturday, Oct. 10 has been moved up 5.5 hours and will now kickoff at noon ET on ESPN+.

ETSU at The Citadel

The ETSU-The Citadel football game in Charleston, S.C., on Saturday, Oct. 10 has been moved up two hours and will now kickoff at noon ET on Nexstar and ESPN+.

Rice at East Carolina

The Rice-East Carolina football game in Greenville, N.C., on Saturday, Oct. 10 has been moved up three hours and will now kickoff at 1:00pm ET / noon CT on Nexstar and ESPN+.

Three other football games in the Gulf Coast and Carolinas area that are scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 10 could be affected by Hurricane Isaias. Most prominently, Alabama is scheduled to host Georgia in Tuscaloosa, Ala., and the game is still slated to kickoff at 7:30pm ET on ABC.

In other action, Alabama A&M hosts Bethune-Cookman in Huntsville, Ala. (7:00pm, SWAC TV), while Alcorn State hosts Arkansas Baptist in Lorman, Miss. (3:00pm ET, SWAC TV).

  • ESPN, the World Wide Commissioner of all sports, won't move the time frame for the start of the Alabama/Georgia game because they have it on national television. Hopefully it's a nonissue and they are putting anyone in danger, but damn everything for primetime ratings.
