Georgia’s 2018 non-conference slate continues to take shape. The Bulldogs will host FCS member Murray State on September 15, 2018, Dawgnation reported Thursday.
A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request submitted by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and included in Dawgnation’s report states that the Racers will be paid $500,000 for the contest.
Murray played on the road at FBS opponents Northern Illinois and Western Michigan last season. Northern Illinois defeated Murray State 57-26, while Western Michigan secured a 52-20 victory. Those two contests were part of a three-win season for the Racers.
The schools have never played on the gridiron.
This is the Bulldogs’ fourth scheduled game for 2018. The annual Florida-Georgia contest will take place on October 27, with games against UMass and Georgia Tech scheduled for November 17 and 24, respectively.
