The College Football Playoff 2019 New Year’s Six was officially announced by the College Football Playoff selection committee on Sunday.
New Year’s Six bowl game matchups announced this afternoon include the Goodyear Cotton Bowl (Memphis-Penn State), Capital One Orange Bowl (Florida-Virginia), Rose Bowl Game (Oregon-Wisconsin), and Allstate Sugar Bowl (Georgia-Baylor).
Earlier today, the College Football Playoff Selection Committee announced the semifinal pairings. No. 1 LSU will face No. 4 Oklahoma in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl in Atlanta, Ga., and No. 2 Ohio State will take on No. 3 Clemson in the PlayStation Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, Ariz. Both games are slated for Saturday, Dec. 28.
The Goodyear Cotton Bowl will be played on Saturday, Dec. 28 at noon ET, just a few hours before the first College Football Playoff Semifinal begins. The Capital One Orange Bowl will be played on Monday, Dec. 30, while the Rose Bowl Game and Allstate Sugar Bowl will both be played on New Year’s Day, Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2020.
The College Football Playoff National Championship is set for Monday, Jan. 13, 2020 at Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, La. The game will be televised by ESPN at 8:00pm ET.
