The college football bowl schedule on the ESPN networks has been announced for the 2019-20 season, which includes a total of 35 games plus the College Football Playoff National Championship.
The bowl schedule kicks off on Friday, Dec. 20 with the Makers Wanted Bahamas Bowl at 2:00pm ET on ESPN. That game is followed by the Frisco Bowl at 7:30pm ET on ESPN2.
Saturday, Dec. 21 features six bowl games, beginning at noon ET with the Celebration Bowl, which matches teams from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) and the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC). The game will be televised by ABC.
Other bowls set for Saturday, Dec. 21 include the New Mexico Bowl (2:00pm ET, ESPN), Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl (3:30pm ET, ABC), Camellia Bowl (5:30pm ET, ESPN), Mitsubishi Motors Las Vegas Bowl (7:30pm ET, ABC), , and R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl (9:00pm ET, ESPN).
The SoFi Hawai’i Bowl returns to its traditional Christmas Eve slot this season. The game will be played on Tuesday, Dec. 24 at 8:00pm ET.
The College Football Playoff semifinal games will be played on Saturday, Dec. 28. The two semifinals are the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl in Atlanta, Georgia, and the PlayStation Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, Arizona, and they will kick at either 4:00pm or 8:00pm ET and will air on ESPN.
Due to the calendar this season, five bowl games are scheduled to be played after New Year’s Day. Two are scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 2 (Birmingham Bowl and TaxSlayer Gator Bowl), one is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 3 (Famous Idaho Potato Bowl), one is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 4 (Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl), and one is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 6 (Mobile Alabama Bowl).
The College Football Playoff National Championship is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 13, 2020 at 8:00pm ET and it will be televised by ESPN. The game will pit the winners of the two semifinals games at Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.
