The Charlotte 49ers and the Maryland Terrapins have scheduled a home-and-home football series for 2022 and 2023, FBSchedules.com has learned via an open records request to UNCC.

Charlotte will host Maryland in the first game of the series at Jerry Richardson Stadium on Sept. 10, 2022. The matchup will also be the first-ever meeting between the two schools on the gridiron. The following season on Sept. 9, 2023, the 49ers will travel to take on the Terrapins at Maryland Stadium in College Park.

Charlotte started their football program in 2013 and they just completed their first season as a full member of the Football Bowl Subdivision in Conference USA.

The 49ers now have three non-conference games scheduled for both the 2022 and 2023 seasons. In 2022, Charlotte is also set to visit Georgia State on Sept. 7 and Indiana on Oct. 1. In 2023, they host Georgia State on Sept. 16 and again visit Indiana on Sept. 23.

The two games against Charlotte are the first non-conference games announced for the Maryland Terrapins for both seasons.
