The Boise State Broncos and the UConn Huskies have scheduled a home-and-home football series for 2014 and 2018, both schools have announced.

UConn will host Boise State in the first game of the series at Rentschler Field in East Hartford on Sept. 13, 2014. The second and final game will be played at Bronco Stadium in Boise on Sept. 8, 2018. The 2014 contest will be the first meeting between the two schools.

Connecticut now has three games scheduled in 2014 and one in 2018. Other games next season include BYU (Aug. 28) and Stony Brook (Sept. 6), both at home.

The Huskies have been setting up a very challenging non-conference schedule, and the addition of Boise State continues that trend. UConn also has future games set against BYU, Maryland, Michigan, Tennessee, and Virginia.

“We are very excited to announce that another nationally prominent opponent will be visiting Rentschler Field,” said UConn Director of Athletics Warde Manuel. “We are committed to giving our fans an exciting football schedule each year and we believe this series with Boise State will be an important piece of that. Husky supporters should be enthusiastic as we will playing home games against Michigan, Maryland, Tennessee, BYU, Virginia and now Boise State in upcoming seasons.”

Boise State now only needs one more non-conference game in both 2014 and 2018. The Broncos open the 2014 season vs. Ole Miss in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game on Aug. 28, visit UConn on Sept. 13, and host BYU on Oct. 25.

In 2018, Boise opens at Troy on Sept. 1, hosts UConn on Sept. 8, and then hosts BYU on Oct. 20.
