The Boise State Broncos have added future football series against the UTEP Miners and the Rice Owls, the school announced today.
Boise State will host UTEP at Albertson’s Stadium on Sept. 4, 2021. The Broncos will then travel to face the Miners On Sept. 24, 2022.
Boise State leads the overall series against UTEP 5-0. The two last met in El Paso in 2004.
The Broncos have also added a home-and-home football series against the Rice Owls. Boise State will host Rice on Sept. 9, 2023 and then the Broncos will travel to Houston to play the Owls on Sept. 7, 2024.
Boise State and Rice have met twice on the gridiron, which was a home-and-home series in 2001 and 2002. Rice took the game in Houston 45-14 in 2001, and the Broncos came out on top in Boise 49-7 in 2002.
Boise State’s non-conference schedule is complete for the 2016, 2017, 2018, 2022, and 2023 seasons. The Broncos need one additional game for 2019, 2020, and 2021 and three games in 2024.
