The 2027 United Football League (UFL) season will kick off with the Louisville Kings hosting an opponent to be determined on FOX UFL Friday, the league has announced.
Louisville will host the season-opener at Lynn Family Stadium in Louisville, Ky., on Friday, March 26, 2027. The game will be nationally televised by FOX at 8:00pm ET.
In July, it was announced that the UFL was exiting the Birmingham and Houston markets “…as part of its strategic market realignment and long-term growth strategy.”
The UFL plans to add two replacement markets in time for the 2027 season. Then in 2028, the league will expand to 10 teams total with the addition of Oklahoma City and another currently unknown market.
Currently, the UFL stands at six teams: Columbus Aviators, Dallas Renegades, DC Defenders, Louisville Kings, Orlando Storm, and St. Louis Battlehawks.
With the 2027 UFL regular-season slated to begin on March 26, the 10-week schedule will conclude on Sunday, May 30. The UFL playoffs will be played June 5-6, and the UFL Championship will follow on June 12-13.
The complete 2027 UFL schedule will likely be released early next year. Last year, the schedule was announced on January 22.
