West Virginia to host James Madison at FedEx Field in 2012

The West Virginia Mountaineers are close to finalizing an agreement to host the James Madison Dukes at FedEx Field on September 15, 2012, DailyMail.com has reported.

This will be the second meeting between the two schools. West Virginia beat James Madison 45-10 in 2004. The Dukes went on to win the 1-AA National Championship that year.

James Madison will receive $350,000 for the game and can earn another $150,000 in “an attendance incentive.” For every ticket sold beyond 42,500 up to 57,500, the Dukes would earn $10 per ticket. The Mountaineers will be the home team and will earn more than $2 million.

The addition of James Madison completes West Virginia’s 2012 non-conference football schedule. The Mountaineers also host Marshall on September 1, travel to Florida State on September 8 and play at Maryland (date TBA).

Last week, it was announced that Maryland and West Virginia will meet at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore in 2013. The Mountaineers will also play the BYU Cougars at FedEx Field in 2016.
