The Vanderbilt Commodores have added the North Alabama Lions to their 2030 football schedule, according to the University of North Alabama’s game notes.

Per Page 7 of the notes, Vanderbilt will host North Alabama at FirstBank Stadium in Nashville, Tenn., during the 2030 season. The game will mark only the second meeting between the two schools on the gridiron.

In their only meeting back in 1959, the Commodores defeated the Lions in Nashville, 42-7. At that time, North Alabama was called Florence State College.

North Alabama competes in the United Athletic Conference (OVC) at the FCS level. The Lions are 1-1 so far this season following a 22-10 win over Samford and a 31-14 loss on the road at Arkansas.

North Alabama is the first known non-conference opponent for Vanderbilt in 2030.

Other FCS opponents on Vandy’s future schedules include Eastern Kentucky in 2027, Tennessee State in 2028, UT Martin in 2029, and West Georgia in 2031.

North Alabama now has two non-conference matchups scheduled for 2030. The Lions are slated to host UT Martin on September 14 that season, which is the second game of a home-and-home series that begins with a road contest at UTM on Sept. 15, 2029.

The Lions now have eight future games set against FBS opponents: at Middle Tennessee and North Carolina in 2027, at Mississippi State and Auburn in 2028, at North Texas in 2029, at Vanderbilt in 2030, at Virginia Tech in 2031, and at Auburn in 2032.
