Utah Utes and KJZZ-TV form local Television Partnership

The Utah Utes and KJZZ-TV have announced a local partnership for football television coverage, the school announced Friday.

KJZZ-TV will broadcast Utah’s 2011 season opener against Montana State on Thursday, September 1. Other games will be announced at a later date.

KJZZ-TV will broadcast its games over the air on Channel 14 (HD) in Salt Lake City. KJZZ is also found on Comcast (Ch. 3 and HD Ch. 657), Dish Network (Ch. 14) and DirecTV (Ch. 14). The KJZZ-TV footprint includes the state of Utah, western Wyoming and northeastern Nevada.

“This is a tremendous opportunity for KJZZ,” said Randy Rigby, President of Larry H. Miller Sports & Entertainment. “We are thrilled to broadcast Utah football and the Pac-12 to viewers in the state of Utah as well as parts of Wyoming and Nevada.”

“KJZZ is proud to partner with the University of Utah,” said Chris Baum, KJZZ General Manager. “Paired with our award-winning broadcast team, Utah football will be a tremendous addition to our sports lineup.”

Other Utah football games that have already been selected for TV are September 10 at USC (5:30 p.m. MT – Versus), September 17 at BYU (7:15 p.m. MT – ESPN2) and November 25 vs. Colorado (1:30 p.m. MT – FSN).
