The UL Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns will open the 2021 season at Arizona State, the school announced on Friday.

UL Lafayette and Arizona State will meet for only the second time at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe on Sept. 4, 2021. In their first meeting back in 2001, the Sun Devils rolled over the Cajuns 63-27.

Arizona State has now completed their non-conference schedule in 2021 with the addition of the Ragin’ Cajuns. ASU is also scheduled to host UNLV on Sept. 11 and then travel to BYU on Sept. 18.

UL Lafayette now has two announced non-conference games set for 2021. The Ragin’ Cajuns are also slated to host Ohio at Cajun Field on Sept. 18.

“This gives us another very good, competitive game against an opponent that we have not played in a long time,” UL Lafayette Director of Athletics Scott Farmer said in a statement. “With the game being played on Labor Day Weekend, it’s a great opportunity for our fans to take advantage of the long weekend and support our team in a great part of the country.”
