The Texas Southern Tigers have released their 2019 football schedule, which includes three home games and 11 contests overall.
“We think our schedule is a pretty competitive schedule, with quite a few road games,” TSU’s head football coach Clarence McKinney said. “We’re excited about knowing who we’re going to play; we just have to get ready for it.”
Texas Southern will begin the 2019 season on Saturday, Aug. 31 at home at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston with a Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) contest against the Prairie View A&M Panthers.
The Tigers then travel for consecutive non-conference games at the Incarnate Word Cardinals on Sept. 7 and at the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns on Sept. 14.
After an open date on Sept. 21, Texas Southern again travels for back-to-back games. TSU visits the Houston Baptist Huskies on Sept. 28, followed by the Alabama A&M Bulldogs for a SWAC contest on Oct. 5.
Texas Southern’s final non-conference game of the season is set for Oct. 12 against the Missouri S&T Miners at Durley Stadium on-campus. The game will be Homecoming for TSU.
On Oct. 19, Texas Southern takes on the Southern Jaguars in the Lone Star Football Classic at Cotton Bowl Stadium in Dallas. TSU will be the home team this season.
Texas Southern then hits the road for consecutive games for the third time in 2019. The Tigers play at the Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils on Oct. 26 and at the Grambling State Tigers on Nov. 2.
The Tigers return home to Houston to host the Alabama State Hornets on Nov. 9 before enjoying their second and final open date of the season on Nov. 16.
Texas Southern wraps up their 2019 regular-season schedule on Nov. 23 on the road against the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions.
The Tigers are scheduled to open Spring practice on Monday, March 4 and their 2019 Spring Game is scheduled for Saturday, April 13.
