The South Carolina State Bulldogs have announced their 2019 football schedule, which features a game at USF.
South Carolina State will open the 2019 season on Saturday, Aug. 31 at home at Oliver C. Dawson Stadium in Orangeburg against the Wofford Terriers.
The Bulldogs then travel for consecutive games against the Presbyterian Blue Hose on Sept. 7, a matchup that was previously unannounced, and the USF Bulls on Sept. 14.
South Carolina State returns home the following week on Sept. 21 to close out the non-conference portion of their schedule against the Miles College Golden Bears. This matchup was also previously unannounced.
After an open date on Sept. 28, South Carolina State opens Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) play on the road against the Delaware State Hornets on Oct. 5.
Next, the Bulldogs host back-to-back home contests, first against the Florida A&M Rattlers on Oct. 12 followed by the Morgan State Bears on Oct. 19 for Homecoming.
South Carolina State hits the road again, this time to play the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats on Oct. 26. The Bulldogs then host consecutive games at Oliver C. Dawson Stadium against the North Carolina A&T Aggies on Nov. 2 and the Howard Bison on Nov. 9.
Back-to-back road contests close out the 2019 regular-season for South Carolina State, as the Bulldogs will travel to the North Carolina Central Eagles on Nov. 16 and the Norfolk State Spartans on Nov. 23.
South Carolina State finished the 2018 season 5-6 overall and 4-3 in MEAC contests. The Bulldogs last MEAC championship came back in 2013.
