The South Carolina Gamecocks have added the Wofford Terriers to their 2020 football schedule, the school has announced.
The game against Wofford was announced in conjunction with the release of the 2020 SEC Football Schedule on Wednesday. The game will mark the 25th meeting between the two in-state schools on the gridiron.
South Carolina and Wofford first met in football back in 1895. The Gamecocks have won 17 consecutive games in the series and now lead 20-4. The two schools are also scheduled to meet in Columbia on November 19, 2022.
South Carolina is scheduled to open the 2020 season with three consecutive games at home at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia: Coastal Carolina (Sept. 5), East Carolina (Sept. 12), and Missouri (SEC opener; Sept. 19).
The Gamecocks then play back-to-back games on the road at Kentucky (Sept. 26) and at Florida (Oct. 3) before returning home to host Tennessee (Oct. 10).
After an open date on Oct. 17, South Carolina’s remaining six games rotate on a home-away basis: vs. Texas A&M (Oct. 24), at Vanderbilt (Oct. 31), vs. Georgia (Nov. 7), at LSU (Nov. 14), vs. Wofford (Nov. 21), and at Clemson (Nov. 28).
South Carolina wrapped up their third season under head coach Will Muschamp with a 28-0 loss to Virginia in the Belk Bowl, finishing 7-6 overall and 4-4 in the SEC.
The Gamecocks open the 2019 season on Saturday, August 31 against North Carolina at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina. The game will be televised by ESPN at 3:30pm ET.
