The South Carolina Gamecocks have added the Navy Midshipmen to their 2011 football schedule, the schools announced on Wednesday.
The Gamecocks will host the Midshipmen at Williams-Brice Stadium on September 17, 2011. It will be the first meeting between the two schools since 1988.
South Carolina leads the overall series against Navy 4-3. In their last matchup in 1988, the Gamecocks won 19-8 in Columbia.
In 2011, South Carolina also has non-conference games scheduled against East Carolina (09/03/11 in Charlotte, NC), Clemson (11/26/11) and The Citadel (date TBA).
