The Rutgers Scarlet Knights have added the Buffalo Bulls to their 2018 football schedule, according to a report by APP.com.

Rutgers will host Buffalo at High Point Solutions Stadium in Piscataway, New Jersey on Sept. 22, 2018. The Scarlet Knights will pay the Bulls a $900,000 guarantee, according to a copy of the contract obtained by Gannett New Jersey.

Rutgers and Buffalo first met on the gridiron in 2000 and have played a total of six contests. The Scarlet Knights lead the overall series 5-1 and have won three straight.

The Scarlet Knights now have two non-conference games set for the 2018 season. Rutgers is also slated to play at Kansas on Sept. 15.

A previously scheduled home game against the Miami Hurricanes in 2018, part of a home-and-home series, has been postponed. Rutgers is still slated to visit Miami in 2019.

Buffalo now has three non-conference games set for 2018. The Bulls are also scheduled to play at Temple on Sept. 8 and host Army on Sept 29.

Rutgers-Temple Series Changed

APP.com also reported, via contract documents obtained, that the Rutgers-Temple series set for 2020-23 has been changed. Rutgers was initially set to host Temple in 2020 and 2022 and visit the Owls in 2021 in 2023.

According to the new terms, Rutgers will now visit Temple on Sept. 19, 2020 and Sept. 17, 2022 and will host the Owls on Sept. 4, 2021 and Sept. 9, 2023.
