The Purdue Boilermakers and the Missouri Tigers have scheduled a 2017-18 home-and-home football series, Purdue director of athletics Morgan Burke has confirmed to FBSchedules.com.
In the first game of the series in 2017, Purdue will travel to face Missouri at Faurot Field in Columbia. The second and final game of the series will be played in 2018 at Ross-Ade Stadium in West Lafayette. Burke said that both games will be played in early September.
Purdue and Missouri last met in the 1980 Liberty Bowl in Memphis. The Boilermakers won that game 28-25 to extend their lead in the overall series to 6-2.
News of the Purdue-Missouri series was first reported on Twitter Friday by Mike Carmin of the Lafayette (Ind.) Journal and Courier. Carmin also reported that Purdue is close to signing a home-and-home series with the Nevada Wolf Pack.
Both Purdue and Missouri now have two non-conference games each for the 2017 and 2018 seasons. Purdue is slated to host Notre Dame in 2017 and travel to face the Irish in 2018. Mizzou has a home-and-home series with Wyoming on the books which has the Cowboys visiting Columbia in 2017 and the Tigers returning the trip in 2018.
