The Purdue Boilermakers have added the UAlbany Great Danes to their 2027 football schedule, according to a report from GoldandBlack.com.

Purdue will host UAlbany at Ross-Ade Stadium in West Lafayette, Ind., on Sept. 11, 2027. According to a copy of the game contract obtained by GoldandBlack.com, the Boilermakers will pay the Great Danes a $500,000 guarantee.

A member of the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) at the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) level, UAlbany has faced a Big Ten opponent only once previously, falling to Iowa, 34-7, in 2025.

With the addition of UAlbany, Purdue has tentatively completed its 2027 non-conference schedule. The Boilermakers are slated to open the season at Notre Dame on Sept. 4 before hosting UAlbany on Sept. 11 and Miami (Ohio) on Sept. 18.

However, one of those matchups could be shifted to August 28 following the NCAA’s decision to adopt a uniform 14-week regular season beginning in 2027. Under the new format, FBS programs will be permitted to begin their seasons on the weekend preceding Labor Day weekend, a date currently designated as “Week Zero” that will become the standard opening week of the season.

In Big Ten play, Purdue is currently scheduled to host Illinois, Indiana, Michigan State, Penn State, and UCLA while traveling to Maryland, Nebraska, Ohio State, and Oregon.

For UAlbany, Purdue becomes the third known non-conference opponent on its 2027 schedule. The Great Danes are also set to host Yale on Sept. 18 and Princeton on Sept. 25.

  • Hearing rumors that Notre Dame may be dropping their game with Purdue and replacing it with Oregon. Just rumors at this point. That would give Purdue an open slot to fill with a different P4 opponent.
