Pac-10 to be named Pac-12, Unveils New Logo

The Pac-10 has announced that they will be named the Pac-12 once Colorado and Utah join the conference. They also unveiled a new logo (pictured at right). The number will be changed to 12 in the future.

Utah will definitely join the Pac-12 in 2011 as it was part of their deal. Colorado and the Big 12 are still working to make the transfer happen. On Monday, Big 12 commissioner Dan Beebe said that it “makes the most sense” for the Buffaloes to join the Pac-12 in 2011.

The announcements came during the Pac-10 media days, which also included the launch of their redesigned website.

Still not announced are the future divisions of the conference. A report in June stated that the divisions could possibly look like this:

  • North: California, Oregon, Oregon State, Stanford, Washington, Washington State
  • South: Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, UCLA, USC, Utah
