Ohio State and Boston College have scheduled a home-and-home football series for 2020 and 2021, the two schools announced today.
Ohio State will host the first game of the series at Ohio Stadium on Sept. 19, 2020. The second and final game will be played at Boston College’s Alumni Stadium on Sept. 18, 2021.
“Boston College is a fine program from an outstanding conference (ACC),” Gene Smith, Ohio State associate vice president and director of athletics, said. “This gives Ohio State fans a chance to watch their Buckeyes in back-to-back games against Pacific 12 and ACC schools.”
The last meeting between these two schools was in the 1995 Kickoff Classic in East Rutherford, NJ. Ohio State won that game 38-6 to improve their record to 3-0 in the series.
“This will be a great opportunity for our team to measure itself against one of the premier programs in college football,” Boston College Director of Athletics Brad Bates said. “We will have the opportunity to showcase the rich history and tradition of Boston College football in a great matchup between ACC and Big Ten schools.”
Ohio State also announced today that, in collaboration with North Carolina, their contest with the Tar Heels on Sept. 5, 2015 has been moved to Sept. 22, 2018. The two schools will still meet at UNC on Sept. 23, 2017.
The Buckeyes have been very busy of late in the scheduling department. Future home-and-home series have been added against Oregon, TCU, and Texas. Ohio State is also searching for an opponent to replace Vanderbilt, who canceled their 2013 contest. Their replacement could be San Diego State.
