The Ohio Bobcats announced their future non-conference football schedule today, which includes the addition of 15 games.

The additions include home-and-home series with Iowa State and UL Lafayette, single games at Virginia, Pittsburgh, Boston College, and Northwestern, and six FCS opponents.

The series with Iowa State is set for 2022 and 2023. Ohio will travel to face Iowa State at Jack Trice Stadium in Ames on Sept. 17, 2022 and will host the Cyclones at Peden Stadium in Athens on Sept. 16, 2023.

Ohio and the UL Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns will meet in 2019 and 2021. In the first game of the series, Ohio will host UL Lafayette at Peden Stadium in Athens on Sept. 21, 2019. The Bobcats will then travel to face the Cajuns at Cajun Field on Sept. 18, 2021.

Four Power Five road games have been scheduled for Ohio with one each season through 2021. Ohio will play at Virginia on Sept. 15, 2018, Pittsburgh on Sept. 7, 2019, Boston College on Sept. 12, 2020, and Northwestern on Sept. 25, 2021.

The six games FCS opponents added today are Gardner-Webb (2016), Hampton (2017), Delaware State (2018), Rhode Island (2019), Delaware State (2020), and Norfolk State (2021).

“I believe that our football strategic scheduling model has been successful during the past seven years,” said Ohio Director of Athletics Jim Schaus . “Our goal then was to consistently have six home games and offer a balanced and competitive approach which did not overschedule the team. I believe that it has been successful as it has contributed to our success on the field, participation in five postseason bowl games and growing attendance to its highest level ever and best in our conference.”

“The next phase of our scheduling model begins in 2016 and seeks to continue the same tenets of the previous plan but seeks to add a high profile home and home series to enhance interest for our season ticket holders and fans.   I know our fans will enjoy having the likes of Kansas, Cincinnati, Marshall and Iowa State at Peden Stadium in the near future.”
