The game will be played at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on Wednesday, September 5, 2012. NBC will televise the game nationally at 8:30 p.m. ET.
The 2012 NFL season opener is usually played on a Thursday night, but this year’s game was moved to Wednesday to “avoid a conflict with President Barack Obama’s Thursday night speech at the Democratic National Convention.”
New York, the Super Bowl XLVI champions, defeated Dallas 37-34 and 31-14 last season.

Would rather see some football instead of that stupid odumo. Still have it when he speaks will have a better audience.
great...another meta that'll inevitably close due to completely unrelated politically-persuaded name-calling.
Even though I didn't (and won't) vote for Obama, I understand the move by the NFL. Plus - season starts 1 day earlier than usual. Yay for fans!
Woohoo
