The Montana Grizzlies have added the Northwestern State Demons to complete their 2022 football schedule, the school announced on Friday.
Montana will host Northwestern State at Washington-Grizzly Stadium in Missoula, Mont., on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2022, which will be the season-opener for both schools. The game will mark their fourth overall meeting on the gridiron.
Montana currently leads the series against Northwestern State 3-0, and all three games were contested in the FCS Playoffs (2001, 2002, and 2004).
The remainder of Montana’s non-conference schedule in 2022 includes a home contest against South Dakota on Sept. 10 and a trip to face Indiana State on Sept. 17.
Montana opens Big Sky Conference action in 2022 on the road against Idaho on Sept. 24. Other road conference games include Cal Poly (Oct. 15), Weber State (Oct. 22), and Sacramento State (Nov. 12).
Big Sky foes traveling to take on the Griz in Missoula in 2022 include Eastern Washington (Oct. 8), Northern Colorado (Oct. 29), UC Davis (Nov. 5), and in-state rival Montana State (Nov. 19).

Montana and the Big Sky Conference are scheduled to play their 2020 season this spring. The Griz kick off their schedule on Saturday, Feb. 27 on the road against Northern Arizona.
