The Mississippi State Bulldogs have added the Northwestern State Demons to their 2022 football schedule, FBSchedules.com has learned.
Mississippi State will host Northwestern State at Davis Wade Stadium in Starkville on Sept. 3, 2022. NSU will receive a $500,000 guarantee for the game, according to a copy of the contract obtained from Northwestern State University via a state public records request.
Mississippi State and Northwestern State first met on the gridiron in 1945. The Bulldogs won the most recent meeting 62-13 in 2015 to extend their lead in the series to 3-0.
Northwestern State is a member of the Southland Conference in the Football Championship Subdivision. Last season, the Demons finished 4-7 overall and 4-5 in conference play.
Mississippi State now has three scheduled non-conference opponents in 2022. The Bulldogs are also slated to play at Arizona on Sept. 10 and host Memphis on Sept. 24.
In SEC action in 2022, Mississippi State is scheduled to host Arkansas, Auburn, Texas A&M, and Georgia and play at Alabama, LSU, Ole Miss, and Kentucky.
