Michigan will host Arkansas State on Sept. 19, 2020, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reported Wednesday.
The report states that the Wolverines will pay the Red Wolves $1.8 million for the trip. The listed date coincides with that for which a game with Virginia Tech had been planned for that year. No corresponding announcement has been made regarding changes to the 2020 slate.
The teams have never faced off on the gridiron.
Arkansas State finished 7-5 last season, tallying a 6-2 record in Sun Belt Conference play. Middle Tennessee defeated the Red Wolves, 35-30, in the Camellia Bowl.
Along with the contests with Virginia Tech and Arkansas State, the Wolverines’ 2020 docket includes games at Washington (Sept. 5) and at home against Ball State (Sept. 12).
The Red Wolves have a listed home game with Tulsa for this same date, which will also need to be rescheduled. Arkansas State opens the 2020 campaign at Memphis on Sept. 5.
