The Merrimack Warriors have added the Saint Anselm Hawks to their fall 2021 football schedule, according to the official athletics website of Saint Anselm College.
Merrimack will host Saint Anselm at Duane Stadium in North Andover, Mass., on Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021. The game will mark the 22nd overall meeting between the two schools on the gridiron.
Merrimack and Saint Anselm first met on the gridiron in 1999 in North Andover. In their most recent matchup in 2018 in Manchester, N.H., the Warriors defeated the Hawks 31-28 to extend their advantage in the series to 15-6.
Merrimack competes in the Northeast Conference in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS), while Saint Anselm plays in the Northeast 10 Conference in Division II.
Saint Anselm is the third known non-conference opponent for Merrimack’s fall 2021 football schedule. The Warriors are also scheduled to travel to play the Maine Black Bears on Sept. 18 and the Delaware State Hornets on Sept. 25.
Merrimack is 0-3 so far during the Northeast Conference spring 2021 football season. The Warriors are scheduled to close out the regular-season on Friday, April 2 at home against the Wagner Seahawks.
