The LSU Tigers have canceled their 10-year contract with the Tulane Green Wave. The two teams will play in Baton Rouge this season on October 31, but all future games in the series have been terminated.
LSU senior associate athletics director Verge Ausberry has said that the Tigers are attempting to schedule a game with Tulane in 2013. The Tigers are 68-22-7 all-time against the Green Wave and have won the past 17 games.
Yesterday it was confirmed that LSU will play North Carolina in the Chick-fil-A College Kickoff in Atlanta on September 4, 2010. To make room for that game, LSU had to cancel the game, and series, against Tulane.
LSU also announced that it has scheduled future non-conference home games against McNeese State on October 16, 2010 and Northwestern State on September 10, 2011. Both schools are members of the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS).
LSU and McNeese State have never played before. The Tigers lead the overall series 10-0 against Northwestern State, but the two schools haven’t played since 1942. In their 10 games against LSU, Northwestern State has not scored a single point.
