The Kentucky Wildcats have released a tentative 2012 football schedule via their 2011 Football Media Guide.
Kentucky will open the 2012 season on September 1 at in-state rival Louisville. The Wildcats lead the overall series against the Cardinals 14-9 and have won the last four meetings.
UK then hosts Kent State (09/08) and Western Kentucky (09/15) in back-to-back non-conference home games at Commonwealth Stadium in Lexington. Kentucky’s final non-conference game of 2012 is at home against Samford on Nov. 17.
The Wildcats open SEC play on Sept. 22 at Florida. After an open date, Kentucky goes on a tough, five-game conference stretch beginning with South Carolina (10/06), Georgia (10/13) and LSU (10/20) at home. UK then hits the road to play Arkansas (10/27) and Mississippi State (11/03).
Kentucky returns home to face Vanderbilt on Nov. 10. After hosting Samford, the Wildcats travel to Knoxville to take on Tennessee (11/24). Kentucky will once again try to end their losing streak to the Volunteers which is now 26 straight games.
