The Kansas State Wildcats have added the Troy Trojans to their 2023 football schedule, FBSchedules.com has learned.
Kansas State will host Troy at Bill Snyder Family Football Stadium in Manhattan on Sept. 9, 2023. The Wildcats will pay the Trojans a $1.4 million guarantee, according to a copy of the contract obtained from Kansas State University via a state open records request.
In their first and only meeting on the gridiron back in 2003, Kansas State defeated Troy 41-5 in Manhattan.
Troy is the second of three non-conference opponents scheduled for Kansas State in 2023. The Wildcats are also scheduled to play at Missouri on Sept. 16 that season.
Kansas State is the first scheduled non-conference opponent for Troy in 2023. The Trojans now have seven future football games lined up against Power Five opponents: at Nebraska (2018), at Missouri (2019), vs. NC State (2020), at South Carolina (2021), at Ole Miss (2022), at Mississippi State (2025), vs. Mississippi State (2026).
Kansas State opens the 2018 season on Saturday, Sept. 1 at home against the South Dakota Coyotes, while Troy opens at home on the same day against the Boise State Broncos.
