Houston Cougars announce 2012 football schedule

The Houston Cougars officially announced their 2012 football schedule yesterday, which includes games against Marshall, Rice, SMU and UCLA.

Houston opens the 2012 season at home on Sept. 1 against the Texas State Bobcats. Texas State will be playing their first season at the FBS level as a member of the WAC.

UH continues their schedule with two more non-conference games at home vs. Louisiana Tech on Sept. 8 followed by a trip to face UCLA on Sept. 15.

After an open date, Houston opens C-USA play against Rice in the annual State Farm Bayou Bucket at Reliant Stadium on Sept. 29. The Cougars then return to Robertson Stadium to close out the non-conference portion of their schedule against North Texas on Oct. 6.

The remainder of Houston’s 2012 schedule includes vs. UAB (Oct. 13), at SMU (Thurs., Oct. 18), vs. UTEP (Oct. 27), at East Carolina (Nov. 3), vs. Tulsa (Nov. 10), at Marshall (Nov. 17) and vs. Tulane (Nov. 24, 4 p.m. CT).

The 2012 C-USA Championship Game will be played on Saturday, Dec. 1 and will be hosted by the team with the highest conference winning percentage.
